Researching your Degree Program: Tips
When researching which degree or program bests suits your needs, remember to ask pertinent questions – be it by phone or via the web, if you’re not getting answers that suit you, the program may not either.
If an online degree program offers a “degree in 30 days,’ a lump sum payment to get your degree or isn’t interested in anything other than your having a credit card, these are sure signs that the “degree” is only going to make money for the company issuing it.
Though not a prerequisite for studying online, a high speed internet connection can save countless hours of a student’s valuable time.
If you have doubts as to whether a school is properly accredited, be sure to consult the U.S. Department of Education’s website for a list of all approved accrediting agencies (http://www.ed.gov/offices/OPE/accreditation/natlagencies.html)
